Also anyone know what diamonds look real. I even thought about getting a real set and just mounting a fake (looks real) diamond on it. You know to buy something like this in the Egyptian market you have to have plenty of information about it other wise you can easily get fraud , I have the following inquiries :

1. Do you recommend certain shops in areas of Heliopolis or Down Town?
2. What if the shop seller wouldn’t give you a certificate ??
3. Where do you go to if you need to double check or make sure the piece you have is the original piece you asked for ??

I’m just wondering if anyone else out there with a non-diamond ring has gotten bashed by family members (or friends)? Or maybe my relatives are just nasty. The most rude comment was "couldn’t he afford a diamond?". Others have been "are you sure you really didn’t want a diamond".
I have a BEAUTIFUL aquamarine center stone. It is gorgeous! It is just what I wanted. I love it! And I remind my fiance all the time how much I love it and how thrilled I am with it (I’m also a little afraid he might hear some of these comments and second-guess his choice).

I’m talking a basic size 8 wedding band. I think it would have to be carved from an insanely large chunk of diamond, 20+ carats or more. I wouldn’t mind if the diamond was man-made as long as it looked definitively diamond.

I have a very good quality engagement ring as well as a beautiful tanzanite ring that are not being worn and I need money desperately. I’m sure I first have to start with new appraisals since it has been around six years since I have gotten one. They are both rings that I love but have too much heartache attached. The money I receive could help me a lot. I don’t want to go through a big procedure to sell them. I also would be sceptical to auction them due to not being guaranteed of a good selling price. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has gotten excellent results in receiving top dollar for jewelry. I suppose I should have done this before Christmas. What exactly are these "holes" for and if a ring doesn’t have one, does that mean that the diamond is fake?
What I meant to ask is, is the setting supposed to have a hole in it? Someone told me that if the setting does not have a hole in it, then the diamond is fake. I know mine is real cuz I have papers that say it is.
