I was left a large amount of jewelry and loose stones that was originally supposed to be the inventory for a new jewelry store. I’m overwhelmed by the amount and value of these items. Please don’t say to go to eBay; it makes my head spin! The eBay ’sellers’ take 30% or more and don’t like to sell jewelry anyway. I’m responsible for handling this wisely but I don’t feel very wise. There are diamond rings, bracelets, earrings, watches, etc. plus more gemstones than I can name in addition to the more common ones, like ruby, sapphire, emerald, etc. I know a lot of items are rare. I thought I should look for someone who wants to open a store but I don’t know where to look or who to trust. Does anyone have experience in this area? I want complete honesty, please. My boyfriend and i have been talking of getting married in the next year or so and i have been looking at rings. I was looking online and found one that i thought was beautiful, but it was not made of real diamonds: "They are the finest European stones, made to have the similar clarity and brilliance as authentic diamonds" I have always felt that if it isn’t a real diamond than it would be like a fake relationship or something. But he doesn’t have much money (neither do i). How would you feel??

I have a 1.5 K 3 stone Moissanite ring and LOVE it. I have taken it to 3 jewelers and they all could not even tell that it wasn’t a diamond. The only jeweler that knows is my personal jeweler and he said even he couldn’t tell. It will even pass an electric diamond test. The only way they can tell is if they use a special tool just to detect Moissanite. We were even hard up for cash one week to pay our rent payment and decided to see if we could pawn it for that week. Pawn shop couldn’t even tell that it was not a real diamond. They offered to buy it straight out for 00. We only paid 0 for this on eBay. Just make sure your ring is Charles and Colvard Moissanite or else its not real Moissanite. Oh had my ring appraised by a jeweler who thought that it was a Diamond and he appraised it at 00. He said my husband must really love me to spend that much. The best part is that no one died, lost a limb or any thing for me to have my engagement ring. If you are worried about people thinking that you have something you cant afford you could always say you got it from a jeweler like Friedman’s for a great closeout price or just stay under 1 carat.
My ring doesn’t ever look green/yellow/gray at all. I have looked at it under tons of lighting conditions and it always looks white/clear and has tons of FIRE. I have put it next to a diamond ring and the Moissanite looks MUCH better.

I found a gemstone ring on ebay I have fallen in love with and is my size. It has three different color gemstones (topaz yellow, pink and blue). However, those colors do not really "match" exactly any other jewelry that I currently have.

Would it still look alright and stylish to wear the ring with whatever clothes and jewelry I have on? Or should I look for other pieces of jewelry to wear with the ring that are the same color gemstones (to have a "set" so to speak – which may be difficult) and/or only wear the ring when the color of clothing I am wearing goes with the gemstones as well?
