I have found two diamonds (different stores) that I really like. They are about the same size one is 1.05ctw and the other 1.09 ctw. Both are VS2 H color. The 1.05ctw is about 0 cheaper than the other one but it is not a certifcate stone. However, the jewelry store where I was looking at said that they can provide with an appraisal free of charge by a gemologist on site. The other store has the AGS certified diamond. I like both equally but don’t know if I should save the money by getting the stone with the appraisal rather than the certificate.

So I plan on asking this amazing girl to married me. I already know the cut of the diamond (princess) carat (1.0) Clarity vs1 to vs2 and colorless. I been to kay jewelers and other jewelry’s. My budget is about 5 grand less or so. Does getting a diamond stone by it self at the store and getting the placing separate make it cheaper. Also where can I get good pricing on rings? How to make the cost of it cheaper. I want to finance as well is that a good idea? Any info or suggestion would be help

I was looking at them jamesallen website, I noticed that the diamonds appear very different from each other with magnification. BUT what is the real difference when its is only one carat in size? Do you have one or the other? what is your opinion?> If it is going to be a vs2 or better with a very good cut and symetry? thanks!

Looking at princess cut diamonds at jamesallen.com. I notice that soem of them appear cloudy? Also some have dark areas but v v s 1 ratings? Is there some things that arent a big deal under 10x magnification? As long as it is a D E F vvs1-vs2 shouldnt they look basically the same with a great cut? Please educate me?!?!?! The prices are similar but the pics so different! Bluenile doesnt even offer pics and ppl are very satisfied when they order. Also doesnt a diamond that looks clear like glass indicate a good diamond?

Thinking about getting engaged soon and I’ve began looking for rings. It looks to me that it would be best to get a ring online. Any suggestion of online sites or any good stores located in southern VA or northern NC. Looking for an Princess cut, ideal cut, H or better color, VS2 or better clarity, around .75 carats and am trying to keep it under 00.

I know both are important, but which is "more valuable", color or clarity? I’m looking at buying a diamond/engagement ring that has a color rating of E and clarity rating of VS2, or a diamond that has a color rating of F and clarity rating of VS1.
